His area of expertise also lies in Gastrointestinal and Laparoscopic Surgery.
Dr. Thusoo earned his MBBS in 1968 and MS in General Surgery in 1972, both from Maulana Azad Medical College, University of Delhi, establishing a strong foundation for his surgical career.
Dr. T. Krishan Thusoo, with over 40 years of experience, served as the In-Charge of the Endocrine Surgery Clinic at Lok Nayak Hospital, New Delhi, for more than 20 years. His deep interest in Thyroid Surgery led him to perform over 1000 thyroid operations, addressing both benign and malignant conditions.
In the realm of Cancer Surgery, Dr. Thusoo has extensive expertise in treating various cancers, including GI Cancers like Esophageal, Stomach, Colon, Rectal, and Pancreatic cancers, as well as Breast, Thyroid, and Genito-Urinary cancers, including bladder and renal tumors.
His proficiency in Laparoscopic Surgery is bolstered by a WHO fellowship, which provided him with six months of advanced training at various centers in the USA in 1993-94. For the past 20 years, he has consistently performed basic laparoscopic procedures, such as laparoscopic cholecystectomy and appendectomy.
For his exceptional services, he is also awarded with many prestigious awards including the Delhi State Award for Service Doctors in 2000 and Chairman’s Award of Max Health Care in 2005.
