Dr. Giriraj Bora is a distinguished Gastrointestinal Surgeon and Liver Transplant Surgeon.
He has an extensive career of more than 24 years.
He has a specialized focus on liver transplantation and resections for Hepatocellular cancers, as well as combined liver-kidney transplantation and complex Pancreatic surgeries, including those for chronic pancreatitis and Whipple’s pancreaticoduodenal resections.
Throughout his career, Dr. Bora has successfully completed over 1500 liver transplants and has acquired substantial expertise in advanced Gastrointestinal procedures.
His academic achievements include earning an MBBS degree from JLN Medical College in 2000, an MS in General Surgery from the same institution in 2003, and an MCh in Surgical Gastroenterology/GI Surgery from GB Pant Hospital, Delhi, in 2009.
Dr. Bora was honored by the Chief Minister of Rajasthan for performing the first liver transplant in the state, a milestone in his illustrious career.
He has also achieved the distinction of performing both the first living donor and the first deceased donor liver transplants in Rajasthan.
His research endeavors are focused on hemodynamic changes during liver transplantation and the effects of IVC cross-clamping in living donor liver transplants.
As a respected member of the Delhi Medical Council, Dr. Bora has contributed significantly to the field through numerous publications on Liver Transplantation and GI Surgery, and his work has been presented at both national and international conferences, including the International Liver Transplant Society (ILTS) conferences in San Francisco (2012) and Sydney (2013).
