Dr. Rajasundaram is a highly respected Surgical Oncologist with over 32 years of extensive experience in cancer surgery.
His surgical expertise includes laparoscopic gastrointestinal and gynecological oncology surgeries, complex head and neck cancer surgeries with microvascular reconstruction, and advanced breast cancer procedures.
He has successfully performed more than 15,000 complex cancer surgeries throughout his career.
Dr. Rajasundaram is particularly skilled in breast cancer surgeries, including sentinel lymph node biopsy and oncoplastic reconstruction, having conducted over 5,000 such procedures and earning recognition as a pioneer in this field.
He is renowned for performing complicated thyroid surgeries and is one of the few surgeons in India proficient in laparoscopic GI oncology procedures.
Dr. Rajasundaram played a crucial role in promoting advanced cancer treatments such as HIPEC (Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy) and complete cytoreductive surgery (CCRS).
He completed his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from Madras Medical College in 1992 and 1997 respectively, followed by a DNB in General Surgery from the National Board of Examination, New Delhi, in 1997, and an MCh in Surgical Oncology from Dr. Muthulakshmi College of Oncological Sciences, Adyar, in 2000.
His additional training includes casualty and trauma management (1992), vascular surgery (1998), and surgical oncology (2000), all conducted at premier institutions such as Government General Hospital and the Cancer Institute (WIA), Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.
Dr. Rajasundaram is a Fellow of the Association of Surgeons of India (FAIS) and the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (FAMS).
